Davis Love III took another huge dig at Greg Norman, accusing the LIV Golf chief of “lying” to players.
Two-time Ryder Cup captain Love, who will lead the US at the Presidents Cup, has been outspoken in recent weeks regarding the breakaway tour and its impact on the top level of the game.
He previously suggested players who remain could boycott events if LIV rebels are allowed to play.

Now, in an appearance on GOLF’s Subpar podcast, he has turned his fire on Norman.
“He says things that are so untrue,” Love said.
“He gets up there and says ‘we’re a closed shop’ a few weeks ago.
“I know three guys and they’re begging him to come. It’s not a closed shop. And then you’ve seen it in the text messages that are released with Sergio [Garcia]. But he tells players they [the PGA Tour] can’t suspend you for one day, much less a year. That’s a lie.”
The messages Norman exchanged with Garcia were revealed in court last month when Talor Gooch, Hudson Swafford and Matt Jones’ bid to play in the FedEx Cup playoffs was thrown out.

Norman’s prediction that the PGA Tour would be unable to suspend players proved incorrect, with a number of stars – including Garcia – handed indefinite bans as soon as they played in the first LIV event at Centurion Club.
Regardless, the breakaway tour has continued to attract signings, with world No.2 Cam Smith the headline act among six new recruits this week.
