Shot Scope’s latest X5 GPS watch is not your everyday GPS watch.
Described by the brand as the “next product evolution” in its award-winning performance tracking range, the X5 is the performance tool on your wrist that could take your game to the next level.
If you’re in the market for a new GPS watch this season and you want the best, the new Shot Scope X5 offers not only all your distances and yardages, it gives access to over 100 statistics by tracking each shot.
Let’s dive in.
1 It’s got a sizeable touch screen
The large 1.2” full-colour touchscreen display is simple and easy to use. All you need to do is swipe up or down, right or left and tap to interact. To go back, just tap the bottom right button. There’s also a dial at the side of the watch if you prefer to navigate your way through the different screens. But we found swiping is a lot easier and quicker. Updates will come throughout the year – at no additional cost – including a brand new full hole view display, which we like the sound of.

2 Set-up is quick and easy
Setting up new tech sometimes can be time consuming, but not with the X5. There’s no faffing. You just download the app and follow the simple and easy step-by-step walk-through to set up and connect your watch to sync up your home course. You’ll be up and ready to go in minutes. It’s that easy. There are over 36,000 pre-loaded courses to browse.
3 It works with YOUR bag
You have 16 x second generation tracking tags included for automatic club recognition to track all shots which just screw into the top of your grips. The tag has the club initial or number on top which makes pairing up with the correct club easy. Once you have screwed the tracking tags in, you can enter all your clubs to create your bag so that each club matches the tag. You can do this on the app or on the desktop, whichever suits.
4 You can track your shots like a tour pro
This is what separates the Shot Scope X5 from other GPS watches. In GPS+Track mode, you will be able to track your performance like a PGA Tour player and get an in-depth look at your statistics after your round. This allows you to be able to compare stats like strokes gained, fairways hit, driving accuracy and much more. You can review over 100 statistics, giving you a comprehensive breakdown of your golf game. If, however, you just want to go out for relaxed round and get your yardages, just pop the X5 in GPS mode and play away.5 It’s a caddie on your wrist
The watch gives you front, middle and back distances to the green, plus updates you on hazards and dog-legs, so you’ll never hit the wrong club. You can use green view to look at the green and move the pin using the touch screen to where the pin placement is for the day to get even closer with your approaches. It’s also easy to measure the last shot you hit to see how far your longest drive was for the day. You also can record your score on the digital scorecard and track your steps and pace of play for your round.
