1. No more ‘double hit’ penalties

Players will no longer be penalised for an accidental double hit. Until now, players who connected more than once with the ball in the course of a stroke were made to count the shot and add a penalty, turning one shot into three in the blink of an eye. However, from January 1, 2019, golfers will simply count the one stroke they made to strike the ball.
