If there was one shot that Donald Trump didn’t want people to see, it was probably was this.

It appears Trump had every golfer’s worst nightmare recently when he horribly shanked a wedge shot straight right, some distance away from its intended target on the green.

And unfortunately for the former President of the United States, his rocket straight out of the hosel was caught on camera by somebody called Sean Kumar on Instagram.

The now-viral clip first published on the social media platform and now shared worldwide supposedly shows Trump preparing to hit a short short into the green at his Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles.

He had the onlookers from the cliffside above in fits of laugher, with the caption of the post reading: “Ran into Trump… and he did this.”

“Let’s see if he can hit the green,’ the onlooker says, before realising, “Oh he shanked it – oh my god I got that on video!”

The ball flew straight right towards the bushes that were situated well away from the hole, with Trump looking entirely bemused by what he had just produced.

The clip is almost certainly showing Trump, thanks to a few clear giveaways.

The shot is being recorded on his course in LA, he is wearing his traditional red hat and is being flanked by a number of golf buggies, presumably being driven by members of the secret service.

Trump has famously boasted of having a handicap of 2.8 in the past, and while nobody is immune from a shank, the inevitable jokes piled in about the 77-year-old’s golfing ability.

“Probably still had a birdie,” one fan wrote. “Eagle on the scorecard,” another joked, while once conceded “We’ve all been there.”

Trump has dubiously claimed to have won club championships in the past, but it is clear that he is the biggest golfing fanatic who has been POTUS.

He continues to swing freely well into his late 70s and still has a major influence in professional golf. Trump has been teeing it up in the pro-am events on the LIV Golf series, where many of his courses are used as venues.

Trump National in Washington staged LIV’s DC event in May, while the Saudi-backed circuit has an event at Trump Bedminster in August before a second season finale at Trump Doral in Miami in late October.
