It’s the latest setback in what has been a difficult few months for the PGA Tour winner. Zalatoris missed the last four months of the 2022 season with two herniated discs in his back, shortly after winning the FedEx St Jude Championship, his maiden win on the PGA Tour.
The American had started to show signs of promise, playing in seven PGA Tour events in 2023, only missing one cut.
Last year, Zalatoris excelled in major championships, finishing in the top-ten three times, with his worst finish a tie for 28th at the 150th Open Championship.
