Bridgestone Golf has launched its latest additions to the B-Series range – with an added drop of water.
That’s right, the new B-Series features ground-breaking Hydro Core technology, which produces 30% more graduation in the formulation around the inner and outer areas of the core. This creates a softer centre and a firmer outer region for less spin off the face, as well as greater distance and accuracy.
While testing countless different compounds for the core of its latest family of B-Series premium balls, Bridgestone engineers discovered that a prototype with a drop of water in its core formulation process delivered exceptional performance attributes.
“Bridgestone was the first ball brand to recognise that optimising performance based on swing speed improves a golfer’s game,” said Corey Consuegra, Bridgestone’s director of golf ball marketing.
Tour stars Brandt Snedeker and Matt Kuchar towards confirmed the quality of the new formulation towards the of last year, with Snedeker playing the new TOUR B330 ball in 2014, while Kuchar favours the TOUR B330-S model.
“When Kuch and I began hitting these balls during Presidents Cup practice rounds, we noticed immediately how hot they were off the driver,” said Snedeker. “Needless to say, we are very excited about having these balls in play on tour in 2014.”
As well as tour players, accomplished players with swing speeds of more than 105mph can choose between the extra distance capabilities of the TOUR B330 – with a six per cent softer cover than the previous model – or the outstanding greenside spin of the TOUR 330-S model.
Both four-piece urethane covered balls continue to rely on penetrative flight on Bridgestone’s acclaimed Dual Dimple Technology.
The majority of golfers who swing the driver at less than 105mph also have the opportunity to benefit from the Hydro Core technology and gain distance off the tee with either the B330-RX or B330-RXS balls, which are three-piece models. The B330-RX is designed for those seeking more distance off the tee, while the B330-RXS offers more greenside spin.
“Bridgestone was the first ball brand to recognise that optimising performance based on swing speed improves a golfer’s game,” said Corey Consuegra, Bridgestone’s director of golf ball marketing.
“Now by matching design innovation with feedback from our 250,000 ball fittings across the world, we believe our latest range delivers something special for golfers looking to move their game to another level.”
