Cobra Golf launch Fly-Z iron range

2015 02 Cobra Forged

Cobra Golf has released its latest range of tour-inspired irons, which have been designed to provide superior feel, workability, consistency and accuracy for the better golfer.

The Cobra Golf research and development team worked alongside their tour ambassadors to shape and develop the Fly-Z Pro and Fly-Z+ Forged irons, combining a timeless look and feel with a host of modern technologies.

The Fly-Z Pro irons have utilised a five-step forging process and aim to deliver a soft, yet solid feel at impact.

Tungsten to weighting positions the CG low and directly behind the impact location for greater precision and increased control, while the CNC milled faces and grooves maximise spin and deliver more controlled trajectories.

They are compact in shape, with a thinner topline – preferred by Cobra Golf tour players – coupled with minimal offset for workability and control of shot shapes.

The set, from 3-iron to pitching wedge, also features a Golf Pride New Decade Multi Compound Cord grip, along with a True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft.

Jose Miraflor, Cobra Golf director of product marketing, said: “Our research and development team has worked with Cobra Golf tour players to understand their needs and used their feedback to develop the Fly-Z Pro irons.

“The result is a set of irons that provide tour trajectories and superior feel and precision for better players.”

The Fly-Z+ Forged irons feature a six-step forging process to deliver the softer feel required by the best golfers.

Precision shot making in the irons is enabled through the use of tungsten inserts positioned in the heel and toe, delivering consistency and accuracy, while a vibration dampening TPU insert replaces the weight removed, delivering a soft, yet solid feel at impact.

The Fly-Z Pro iron set is available in both left and right-handed, with a minimum price of £749, with the Fly-Z+ Forged iron set available in right-handed only with a minimum price of £699.

Both sets are available for retail from March 1 and for more information, visit the Cobra Golf website or follow @CobraGolf on Twitter.
