The week after a major is always a quiet one but, thanks to Titleist, we’ve had lots of gear photos to keep us entertained.
This week, Titleist has been showing off its new 917 driver on tour and we’ve been loving the pics as pros got dialled in at the Quicken Loans National.
The most high profile of those players was Justin Thomas, who was seen getting fitted early in the week.
He arrived at Congressional playing a Titleist 915 D4, but switched ahead of the first round to a prototype 8.5˚ 917 D2 with a Mitsubishi Tensei shaft.

Zac Blair was another big fan of the new Titleist 917 driver and even gave us an insight into the performance.

@JetsetterGolf @Titleist it’s awesome! Great feel, low spin. Gonna pick up some extra yards with it. #917

A total of 28 prototype 917 drivers were put in play last week. Nine players chose the traditionally larger D2 head, while nine chose the normally more pear-shaped D3 head.

PXG reveals new putter designs
This time, the brand has introduced 11, that’s right ELEVEN, new putters on tour. It says the designs have been influenced by some of the technology found in its irons. The model above is called the ‘Gunboat’, while Billy Herschel can be seen trying out the ‘Mustang’ model below.
And on a side note, have you seen PXG’s plush new headquarters. Judge it for yourselves…

Talking of cool looking places…
Let’s take a moment to admire the great Arnold Palmer’s workshop! Featuring clubs used by The King throughout his career it is truly something to behold.
These pics are just the start of it, too. Callaway Golf gave the world an insight inside ‘The King’s’ cave. You can see them all here.

New putter for Ernie?
The Big Easy’s troubles on the green from earlier this year appear to be a distant memory after he played himself into contention at the Quicken Loans National at Congressional. He did so with a putter in the bag that has already sold out since he started gaming it.
