With Masters week comes plenty of traditions. One that’s becoming particularly prevalent in recent years, however, is the outfits that J. Lindeberg decks out their star player, Viktor Hovland in.
Hovland is making his fifth trip to Augusta National this week in search of his first major title. While his golf will, hopefully, be eye-catching, there’s no doubt that his attire will turn heads, regardless of his performance.
We’ve seen plenty of loud colour combinations from the Norwegian, and this week, he’ll be sporting some of the Tour Collection from J. Lindeberg, which takes inspiration from the iconic Azalea flowers that line the 13th hole at Augusta National.
“This capsule is a modern, edgy take on the traditional aesthetics of The Masters, and is engineered from innovative fabrics for top performance, mirroring the excellence the tournament stands for,” said Neil Lewty, Chief Creative Officer at J. Lindeberg.
As you’ll see, there really is a distinctive theme in these get-ups from Hovland. Both Friday and Sunday’s outfits feature mainly black colouring, with some pink, while Thursday and Saturday’s feature white trousers with black shirts.
While the styles might not be to everyone’s taste, clearly, the attention they get is positive. Or at least, it’s positive for the sales team at J. Lindeberg. Last year, Hovland’s first round shirt gained plenty of attention, and the piece sold out by the end of his round. As in, it sold out globally. By the time Hovland had started his second round, you couldn’t buy his first round shirt.

What does Viktor Hovland think about the gear that he sports on the course? Well, it might not be what he would usually wear, but as he explained last year, he’s happy to put on whatever he’s asked.
“Well, J. Lindeberg, they give me this stuff and pay me money to do so, so I just show up and wear what they want me to wear,” he explained last summer.
Whether or not you would wear this gear from J. Lindeberg, it’s sure to turn heads this week at Augusta National.
