• Update: Tiger Woods confirmed on January 8, 2024, that he has split with Nike. You can read about it here.
Tiger Woods and Nike – one of the most iconic partnerships in any sport, let alone golf – is apparently about to be a thing of the past.
If reports are to be believed, the PNC Championship, where Tiger and Charlie Woods finished on 19-under-par in a tie for fifth, could be the last time we’ll see the 15-time major champion in the iconic swoosh.
Woods was coy when asked about the future of his apparel deal at the parent and child exhibition, issuing a short response to questions about rumours that his 27-year-old relationship is coming to an end.
“I’m still wearing their product,” was his answer, not only to the first question, but the follow-up too.
But according to a recent episode of the No Laying Up podcast, Woods and Nike are about to go their separate ways.
“Been hearing some stuff that the PNC is his last tournament with Nike,” co-host Tron Carter said.
It’s a theory that gains weight when you consider that Woods has been wearing FootJoy shoes since last year’s Masters , saying that they offer support for his ankle.
Another strand to the story developed when Charlie, Tiger’s son, who continues to impress at the PNC, wore a Greyson polo and Greyson quarter-zip at the event.
And now, it looks like we know that relationship is official. On their Instagram page, Greyson shared a post from Larry Fitzgerald, which appears to unveil Charlie Woods as a brand ambassador.

“Welcome to the Greyson Clothiers family, Charlie,” the story reads, with a picture of Woods in the brand’s gear.
Could that be a hint that Woods is set to wear the luxury American apparel moving forward? His good pal Justin Thomas is already an ambassador for the brand…
In terms of Nike’s involvement in golf, there has even been rumblings that they may leave the apparel game altogether, but one account on X has appeared to pour cold water on that. For now at least.
TWLegion, a fan account for Woods, has said that Nike Golf won’t be shutting down in 2024, but that its golf apparel division will be run through Srixon/Cleveland.
🚨Nike Golf is apparently not shutting down in ‘24 – but its golf apparel division is going to be run through Srixon / Cleveland is my understanding. So regardless of the situation with Tiger, operational changes are coming to Nike Golf next year.

If it was to be the end of Woods’ relationship with Nike, it would mark the split of one of the longest running sponsorships in golf.
It’s not just clothes either, with Woods using Nike clubs when they manufactured hardware in the early 2010s.

Woods began wearing Nike clothing in 1996 and he’s been kitted out in the iconic swoosh ever since. Even when many of his other sponsors left him around a decade ago, Nike made a point of sticking by him.
