Vokey Wedgeworks have introduced a limited-edition 54° option to their M Grind range.

The M Grind, which Bob Vokey himself describes as his “most favourite”, is currently only available in the 56-62° lofts, all with 8° of bounce, and is aimed at golfers who have shallow divot patterns and who like to open and close the face to get creative in their short game.

“The M grind is a medium-bounce wedge that features a heel, toe, and trailing edge sole grind and is for players who want a sand wedge to play in medium to firm soil conditions or firmer bunkers,” Vokey explained. “It is also ideal for the golfer with a shallower, neutral, or more sweeping delivery who likes to play shots around the greens with the face in a variety of orientations or positions.”

There are similarities to the SM9 D Grind in the 54 M grind. This comes from the medium-width sole with heel, toe, and trailing edge relief. The 54.12 D Grind, however, plays to a higher effective bounce than the 54 M Grind. With 8° of bounce, the M Grind is better suited to players who have a neutral to shallow angle of attack around the green and on fuller swings, whereas the D grind suits players with a steeper delivery.

Customisation is also possible with the 54 M Grind. Its modern and clean look provides the perfect surface area for customisation. You have the choice of stamping options choosing from 10-character straight or freestyle stamping, or 15 characters around the toe and two lines of 10 characters each. Also, the option of six unique toe engravings, Flight Lines alignment feature, and a selection of shafts, grips, shaft bands and ferrules.

The stock shaft options are the S200 dynamic gold, and the stock grips are the tour velvet black. Availability is worldwide in the raw finish and right-handed players.

RRP: £199
