Australian PGA Championship

Just as the 2023 DP World Tour season ends the new season begins and there’s no rest for the wicked, as the global circuit heads down under.

Featuring 44 tournaments across five continents, the Australian PGA Championship marks the start of a new look schedule.

It’s the first event of the ‘Opening Swing’ which runs through to December’s AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

Each swing will have its own Champion, who will earn $200,000 from an overall $1 million pool, so players will aim to get off to a fast start.

And the big names have their eyes on that prize, as LIV golfer Cam Smith will return home to defend his title.

Smith spearheads a strong home contingent, including Min Woo Lee and Adam Scott, while DP Word Tour stars Robert MacIntyre and Adrian Meronk have committed to the event.

So, with plenty to look forward to, here is everything you need to know…

The bunkered Bet

Cameron Smith 4/1

Nothing fancy at all here, but barring half a dozen players this is a standard DP World Tour field. Smith’s finished 2nd in his last start on the Asian Tour and is a three-time winner of this event, including last year. Short odds but he will be too good.
