• Inaugural Hero Challenge hailed a success by players
• Alex Levy defeated Alex Noren in the final of the pros
• Shane Warne won Hero Challenge celebrity shootout
The inaugural Hero Challenge ahead of this week’s British Masters has been hailed as an overwhelming success with hugely positive feedback from the fun event on social media.
With eight players involved, Frenchman Alex Levy was the last man standing under the floodlights, beating Alex Noren in the final over the specially constructed 156-yard par-3 on The Grove’s 18th hole.

What’s more, an impressive stadium crowd of 2,200 watched the contest, which also included a four-man celebrity shootout between Shane Warne, Kevin Pietersen, Piers Morgan and Brian McFadden, with Warne coming out on top.

“That was a lot of fun,” said Levy. “I said to Alex Noren, I felt more pressure there than in the play-off in Germany, which is ridiculous. It was amazing to see the crowds and everyone enjoying it. Golf needs something like this and it is a great idea.”
On social media, the reaction to the Hero Challenge was just as positive:
Oh my that was wicked. I had so much fun. Defo gotta do it again
