Brooks Koepka’s LIV Golf team has become the second in Greg Norman’s circuit to sign a brand deal.

Smash GC, captained by the five-time major winner, announced that Bald Head Blues will sponsor the side.

The lifestyle and performance golf brand will become an on-course apparel partner for the remainder of the 2023 season.

It means that two of the twelve teams on the Saudi-backed circuit have now secured partnerships, despite uncertainty around the future of the tour.

Recent rumours suggested sportswear giants Nike was in negotiations with Koepka’s side, but that would now have to wait until next campaign.

The 33-year-old is currently a Nike ambassador, as is Smash GC teammate Matthew Wolff.

Jason Kokrak and Chase Koepka, Brooks’ brother, make up the rest of the team, who currently sit seventh in the team standings.

Upon signing the deal, Kokrak said: “I’m very excited to be adding Bald Head Blues to the Smash GC family as our first official partner.

“From the first time I wore Bald Head Blues, I was very impressed with the fit, comfort and feel.

“I’m looking forward to introducing the custom line to LIV Golf and Smash GC fans and giving them a new way to support us both on and off the course.”

Founded on the coast of North Carolina, the beach-inspired clothing will feature on all Smash GC team kits.

The high-performance apparel brand claims it was ‘built for the best golfers in the world’ and is known for its Golf Cart Surfboard logo.

Claude Pope, the company’s CEO, said: “We are incredibly proud to partner with Smash GC. It’s a true thrill to be a part of this team and to be their official on-course apparel partner.

“We look forward to bringing the Bald Head Blues brand to Smash GC fans online and in-person at merchandise tents at LIV Golf events.”

LIV Golf returns next week as Greenbrier hosts the tenth event of the season from August 4-7.
