Open champion Stewart Cink has hinted that Tiger Woods is ramping up his preparations for a return to competitive golf.
The fifteen-time major champion last competed at the Masters in April, but Cink claims he is in ‘go-mode’ for a comeback.
Speaking to Golf Channel, the 50-year-old said: “Mainly I just wanted to know how he’s doing.
“You don’t always get a whole lot out of Tiger Woods, but he said that he started practicing, which I think is a great sign. I don’t know what he’s practicing for, but he said he started practicing.
“So, that means he’s in go-mode for something, and I think we’re all pulling for him to feel as good as he can feel, and if he’s hitting golf balls, I think he’s going in the right direction.”

Cink made the revelation ahead of this week’s World Wide Technology Championship in Mexico.
The PGA Tour event is being held at the Woods-designed El Cardonal at Diamante course, where Woods was in attendance.
Fans have speculated when the 47-year-old will next tee it up, given the on and off-course clues he has dropped.
The 82-time PGA Tour winner hosts the Hero World Challenge at the end of November and the 18-player event has left one space open.

Woods has been a regular at the PNC Championship in recent years, too, which takes place in December.
The event pairs major winners with relatives, and Woods has played with his son Charlie for the past three years.
Woods also partnered with Rory McIlroy in forming the tech-infused indoor golf league TGL. That event starts in January, and McIlroy has announced the team he will represent.
Recent sightings have come in the form of a clinic at Liberty National in September before hosting a junior event at Pebble Beach last month.
