One of the greatest weeks in all of sport has finally arrived.

The Ryder Cup has plenty to live up to after the astonishing drama that played out at Finca Cortesin in the Solheim Cup.

Seldom does the Solheim Cup fail to deliver, and plenty are predicting another humdinger in the men’s match between Team Europe and Team USA at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome.

But who will emerge victorious in the Eternal City? Here’s a full betting breakdown for the 2023 Ryder Cup…

Team USA Evens

Team Europe 5/4

Tie 12/1

There hasn’t been a close Ryder Cup since the Miracle of Medinah in 2012, but this match feels destined to be tight.

And while Europe go into this one as slight underdogs as they aim to reclaim the trophy after the thrashing in Wisconsin two years ago, historical data is on their side.

The underdogs heading into the showpiece have actually won the trophy six times out of the last 10 tournaments. Five of Europe’s seven victories in that time period have come as outsiders.

Underdog status won’t bother Luke Donald’s team one bit, and, in truth, the two teams feel very evenly balanced.

This Ryder Cup will be decided by which big-hitters turn up and deliver for their team. In Viktor Hovland, Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm, Europe have three of the four best players in the world.

• Rose: My role is more than just winning points

The fact that seven of the last eight contests have been won by the home team also points to Europe having a huge advantage with fervent support expected at Marco Simone.

Of course, Team USA only need 14 points to lift the trophy, and they are 3/4 to reclaim the cup in Rome.

Top overall points scorer

Scottie Scheffler 15/2

Rory McIlroy 8/1

Jon Rahm, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele 11/1

Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland 12/1

Collin Morikawa 14/1

Max Homa, Tyrrell Hatton 16/1

The bunkered bet

Viktor Hovland 12/1

Underestimate Viktor Hovland at your peril. Nobody has played better golf than the FedEx Cup champion in recent months, yet Hovland is still not dominating the conversation with regards to the players who could have a deciding role this week.

He is a completely different player compared to his Ryder Cup debut at Whistling Straits and is suddenly one of the senior figures in the European dressing room.

Bursting with confidence, the Hovland will be the man to avoid for the Americans and there is every chance the in-form Norwegian can light up this event, playing in at least four matches if he performs at Marco Simone.

Top overall wildcard points scorer

Brooks Koepka 5/1

Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood 6/1

Justin Thomas 15/2

Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose 17/2

Ludvig Aberg, Rickie Fowler 9/1

The bunkered bet

Ludvig Aberg 9/1

Only a year ago, most American players will not have been aware of Aberg, such has been the Swede’s meteoric rise. But Aberg has already shown he is fearless, and while this is a different type of pressure entirely, there is nothing to suggest he cannot deliver. If sent out in Friday morning foursomes by Donald, Aberg could ride the wave of momentum and deliver three points on his Ryder Cup debut.
