Resurgent Woods tipped for fifth Green Jacket by leading book makers
Bookies tip: Tiger Woods has been made the 9/2 favourite for this years Masters, the first major of the season.
Tiger Woods is the bookies favourite to win the 2012 Masters following a staggering performance at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which saw him tie for third with Graeme McDowell and Thomas Bjorn.
Abu Dhabi was Woods’ first competition of the year and his performance hasn’t gone unnoticed. Hot on the heels of his win at the Chevron World Challenge in December, it has seen his odds at the Masters shortened to 9/2.
Woods has won the Masters four times in his career, most recently in 2005.
Following closely behind, however, is Rory McIlroy who is currently sitting at 8/1 and was the runner-up to Robert Rock at Abu Dhabi last weekend.
Woods and McIlroy are both in competition again this month, with Woods at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and McIlroy at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. The two will not be on the same course until late February at the WGC-Accenture Match Play.
Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood are also favourites with the bookies, their odds are 15/1 and 20/1 respectively.
