• Hank Haney saw promising signs in Tiger Woods’ comeback round
• The 40-year-old shot a one-over-par 73 with two double-bogeys
• However, Woods’ ex-coach did end up backtracking slightly
Fans and fellow pros weren’t the only ones sent into a frenzy by Tiger Woods’ promising comeback round at the Hero World Challenge.
After posting a one-over-par 73, which could have been so much better had it not been for two double-bogeys in the final three holes, the 14-time major champion’s former coach Hank Haney was already of the belief that Woods can triumph again in a major championship.
Haney, like the rest of us, watched the 40-year-old’s round keenly and was clearly impressed with what he had seen in his first competitive round for almost 16 months.

From what I saw today I see Tiger winning more tournaments and at least one more major, lot's of positives today.

Tiger doubled two of the last three holes to shoot 73, two pars and that's 69, maybe he got a little tired at the end of the round today.

However, he did backtrack a little with one catch…
I reserve the right to change my prediction on Tiger winning more tournaments if I see more chunked or bladed pitch shots out of him

Bookmakers, meanwhile, slashed odds on Tiger Woods winning the 2017 Masters. Reportedly around 40/1 before teeing off, he can now be found as low as 16/1 with Betfair to don another Green Jacket in April.
To put that into context, that makes him joint FIFTH favourite to triumph at Augusta National alongside Bubba Watson, behind Jordan Spieth (6/1), Rory McIlroy (8/1), Jason Day (9/1) and Dustin Johnson (12/1).
