Tony Finau has established himself as one of the game’s top players – but who is his caddie?

The Utah-born golfer made his breakthrough on the PGA Tour when he won his maiden title in 2016 at the Puerto Rico Open.

But Finau no longer has the same caddie who helped him to his first success.

• Who is Tony Finau’s wife?

• Who is Patrick Cantlay’s caddie?

The man on his bag now is Mark Urbanek. The pair joined forces at the 2020 PGA Championship, and Finau has lifted multiple titles on tour since.

Urbanek, who has also caddied for James Hahn, Matt Davidson, and Charlie Wi, grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, and had winning experience before working with Finau.

He won the Northern Trust Open with James Hahn in 2015 before repeating the trick with Finau in 2021.

Mark Urbanek has made no secret of how talented and hard-working Tony Finau is, as came across in the Netflix series ‘Full Swing’.

Before Urbanek, Finau’s caddie was Gregory Bodine, who took control of his bag in 2014.

That was Tony Finau’s rookie year on the PGA Tour, and soon after the pair began working together, he tasted success at Coco Beach after coming out on top of a three-hole playoff.

• Who is Keegan Bradley’s caddie?

• Who is Jason Day’s caddie?

After six years, Finau decided to bring the caddie partnership to an end, despite their ‘great run’.

In July 2020, prior to the PGA Championship, he said: “We were together for six years and it’s a tough thing, you know.

“On a personal level, I love the guy and on a business level I felt it was time for a change in my situation and something just different.”

Tony Finau also works heavily with coach Boyd Summerhays, a former PGA Tour player, but it appears new caddie Urbanek is playing a key part in him becoming a more consistent winner.

Since joining forces, Finau has also represented Team USA at the Ryder and Presidents Cup.

He has tasted both fortunes in the Ryder Cup, losing the match in 2019 before being on the winning side at Whistling Straits in 2021.

Meanwhile, Finau lifted the Presidents Cup in 2019 and 2022. Getting over the line in major championships will be the main goal for Finau and his caddie going forward.

Urbanek is yet to win a major with one of his players, but has come closest at the Masters with Finau, particularly in 2021 when Finau finished T10.
