Waste Management Phoenix Open 2024: Prize money payout in full

‘The Peoples Open’ lived up to its name, as the spectators at the Waste Management Phoenix Open stole the headlines.

Several players clashed with fans in Arizona, while a scrap took place on the back nine. Canada’s Nick Taylor birdied 15, 16 and 18 to force a play-off with Charley Hoffman.

Taylor continued his scoring streak in the shootout, making birdie on the first and second play-off holes to break Hoffman’s heart.

It would have been a first PGA Tour win for Hoffman since 2016, but Taylor captured his fourth title and over $1.5 million for his efforts.

Spectator behaviour, branded a “shitshow” by Byeong Hun An, made a long week even longer, as weather had already halted play.

The event was plagued by weather all week before officials closed the gates and halted beer sales on Saturday to prevent overcrowding and tame behaviour.

It meant the tournament went up against the Super Bowl, and as the NFL clash was underway, Taylor added another of golf’s biggest prizes to his portfolio.
