Open champion Cam Smith is known for his eye-catching style on the golf course.

As well as his trademark mullet, the LIV Golf player is also not afraid to mix it up when it comes to his clothing.

But what apparel brand does the Australian wear?

Smith has been sponsored by Original Penguin for a number of years, and the company describes him as an “official ambassador”.

The brand was founded in 1955 by Munsingwear, a Minneapolis-based company which made underwear and military clothing.

According to company records, it claims to the “originator of the classic golf shirt”.

It now specialises in footwear and eyewear and is well-known for its casual clothing as well as its golf range.

Its mascot logo, Pete the Penguin, is embroidered on every item in its range.

Smith was wearing the brand as he won the PLAYERS Championship and lifted the Claret Jug in 2022.

One of the highlights of his Open victory was the daring shirt he wore for the third round, described by Original Penguin as “bunker print, black iris”.

He has continued to wear the brand’s clothing since making the move to LIV Golf following the conclusion of the PGA Tour season.

Earlier in 2022 he signed a new contract with Original Penguin.

“I’m excited to continue my partnership with Original Penguin as they have been a huge supporter of mine over the years,” he said at the time.

“I love the new looks they come up with every season, as they perfectly match my personality on and off the course. As an athlete, Original Penguin offers breathability, comfort, style and protection from the elements – helping me to play my best golf.”
