The launch of a new ‘modern links in the city’ has promised to change the golfing landscape in London.
The Inspiration Club, a new venue located in the heart of the capital, will open its doors this summer and is targeting players who want to nip out for a quick round before or after work in the city.
Renowned links course architects Tom Mackenzie and Martin Ebert designed the par-72 layout, which measures at 6,610 yards and boasts “dramatically shaped USGA-spec greens”.
“We wanted to ensure that we had the right designer to create our vision and the result is a golf course unlike anything London has ever seen – a modern style links,” Tony Menai-Davis, the project’s director, said.
“To experience the shapes of the greens and run offs we have here you would normally have to travel to the coast. The Inspiration offers the drama of the absolute best courses in the UK in sight of the capital. We are incredibly proud of The Inspiration and cannot wait to open in June.”

Menai-Davis directs the family-owned Bridgedown Golf Group, which also owns The Shire and West London Golf Centre.
And now the company’s commitment to golf in the capital has seen an initial investment of £700,000 in its riveted-style bunkers alone to protect the pristine greens, which will provide what they are describing as the “purest roll in golf”.
Mackenzie added: “This has been an exciting, enjoyable and unique project and, if we have done our job well, then the same should apply to playing the course.
“We hope that following a first trip round the course, golfers of all standards will want to return with their friends.”
And now The Inspiration’s booking system is up and running, with green fees revealed as £70 from Monday to Wednesday, £80 for Thursday and Friday, and £90 at the weekend.
“Pricing has been key for us,” Menai-Davis explained. “We want as many people as possible to know what it’s like to play our interpretation of a modern links and experience surfaces and design as good as this. We’ve also created mixed ability tees to ensure that all golfers can enjoy playing the Inspiration together. We are welcoming everyone to play The Inspiration and can’t wait to get the first reactions.
“We are so excited to show the public the work we have put in. It’s been a labour of love that has spanned nearly ten years. We’ve worked with some of the best course designers in the world, meticulously planning every aspect of the course to deliver an incredible golfing experience within sight of the heart of the city.”
The Inspiration Club, which is situated just off the A40 near Wembley, is set to open on June 1, while its clubhouse will be built before the end of the year.
