The Ailsa, one of the most popular courses on the Open rota, has been given a major overhaul but arguably the biggest success story of this multi-million pound investment is the new King Robert the Bruce Course. The old Kintyre wasn’t just touched up; it was wholly reinvented.
Course architect Martin Ebert has worked wonders. The first six and final six holes have had every bunker rebuilt, greens have been improved, gorse has been removed and water and sandy wasteland areas have been introduced, mirroring changes made to the Ailsa. Once you’ve enjoyed a memorable experience out on the course, the hotel provides the perfect place to relax for the remainder of your stay.
