This was certainly one of the more unlikelier victories of 2017 but boy did it pay off for one punter from Dublin. Despite a terrible run of form, which included no top 20s in his previous 16 starts, the person placed a bet of €100 each-way on the 21-year-old at 500/1.

Kim showed nerves of steel to hold on in the final round to become the youngest ever Players champion and, although the punter won €60,000, it was a drop in the ocean to Kim, who netted close to $2m.
