Still only 22, the Spaniard followed up his excellent debut in the defeat at Brookline in 1999 with another strong showing at The Belfry. He teamed-up with Lee Westwood in a vital partnership as they secured wins in the first three sessions for Europe to lead 6.5-5.5. Unfortunately, the duo lost to Tiger Woods/Davis Love III on Saturday afternoon and Garcia lost his singles against David Toms, but his team-mates steered Europe to victory. Record: 3-2-0.
