‘Wild Thing’ holds the dubious distinction of being the only eligible
golfer with multiple major victories never to have played in the Ryder
Cup. Speaking to
Golf.com last year, the two-time major champ addressed that point,
saying: “It hurts a little bit but, in the early 90s, some of the things
I did probably didn’t earn the respect from the players. I don’t blame
them.”
