Thomas Pieters

D+D Real Czech Masters

The big-hitting Belgian is trying to repeat his heroics of two years ago by making a late push for the Ryder Cup team. In 2016, Pieters was runner-up in Belgium before going on to win the Made In Denmark the following week to hoover up one of Darren Clarke’s three wild cards. How he’d love to reproduce that kind of form this time around. He seems to be peaking just at the right time, too, with top-six finishes in two of his last three events: the Scottish Open and the US PGA Championship. According to the European Tour stats team, he is absolutely the man to beat at this week’s Czech Masters. He was a combined 34-under-par in the tournament in 2015 and 2016 and, on average, is 9.27 shots better off than the field at the Albatross Golf Resort.
