It’s the week we’ve all been waiting for.

Tiger Woods is back and set to make his first start of 2024 as a player host of the Genesis Invitational at the Riviera Country Club.

Anticipation has reached boiling point, with Woods ready to appear in new apparel for the first time since splitting with Nike after 27 years of wearing the swoosh.

The fifteen-time major champ announced the end of an era last month, not long after confirming he plans to play ‘once a month’ in 2024.

While that didn’t come to fruition in January, Woods is back to compete after finishing 18th of 20 in the Hero World Challenge in December.

The brush up in the Bahamas was the first time the 48-year-old teed it up since the Masters eight months before.

Next could be the Players Championship before major season is upon us and the four biggest events in the calendar welcome Woods back.

He will rely on a sponsors invite from at least one, however, as his exemption status has expired.

All roads have led to this week, though, as Woods returns from another absence. Woods also made the Genesis Invitational his first stop last year.

Confirming that’s where fans will see him first in 2024, Woods wrote on X: “Excited to be a playing host next week.”

If sticking to his proposed schedule, Woods could play seven times in 2024, after competing in just seven official PGA Tour events in the last three seasons.

He finished T45 in the event last year, which has now been awarded ‘Signature Event’ status.

Jon Rahm won’t be able to defend his crown, as the Spaniard defected to LIV Golf in December, but the likes of Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will be in the mix.

The elevated $20m showpiece now features no cut, boasting a limited field vying for the trophy over four days.

With 700 FedEx Cup points and $3.6 million handed to the winner, fans can catch all the action live on Sky Sports in the UK and on Golf Channel in the US.
