Joaquin Niemann was the latest LIV golfer to taste victory on the DP World Tour as he defeated Japan’s Rikuya Hoshino in a playoff to win the Australian Open.

Niemann and Hoshino both birdied the first sudden-death hole after finishing level on 14-under par, but the 25-year-old Chilean then sealed a dramatic win with an eagle at the Australian Golf Club in Sydney.

The win seals Niemann’s spot into next year’s Open at Royal Troon, and he also jumped up to No.59 in the world rankings.
