It’s a big week for golf in Australia, with the ISPSA Handa Australian Open featuring men and women for the first time.
In what they’re describing as a world’s first, men and women will be playing alongside each other at Kingston Heath and Victoria Golf Club, with the latter venue being used for both weekend rounds.
Both fields will compete for separate, but equal, prize funds.
Headlining the field is 150th Open champion and last week’s winner Cameron Smith, who is joined by fellow LIV golfer Marc Leishman. From Europe, there’s also Adrian Meronk and the Højgaard twins in the field. In the women’s event, seven-time major champion Karrie Webb is in the field, along with home star Hannah Green. The Lee siblings are also playing, with Minjee Lee joined by her brother Min Woo at the Melbourne venues.
There’s also the All Abilities Championship taking place this week, with Kipp Popert and Brendan Lawlor in the field.
The sandbelt is one of the prime destinations for golf in the world, so if you’re tuning in, expect to see stunning views and excited fans, particularly with plenty home favourites on show. The event hasn’t been played since 2019, and hasn’t been to Victoria in two decades.

Adrian Meronk
It’s an important week for the Pole. He’s looking to secure his place in the top-50 in the OWGR, which should secure him an invite to Augusta National. He showed promising signs last week, and is a good price at 28/1.
