If you’re going to dish it, you better be prepared to take it.

That counts double when you come at French golfer Mike Lorenzo-Vera.

The DP World Tour pro is well known for taking absolutely no prisoners when it comes to social media.

Never one to shy away from confrontation, the 38-year-old is a feisty and outspoken character, as he proved again this weekend in shutting down a troll.

After missing the cut at the Qatar Masters, Lorenzo-Vera shared details of an exchange he had with a ‘supporter’ via Instagram DM.

An individual called Christian messaged him to say: “You gutless loser. F**kin gutless performance today what the f**k.”

To which Lorenzo-Vera replied: “Go f**k yourself you piece of sh*t. I’m happy you lost your money on a bet!”

Lorenzo-Vera has had quite a year on and off the golf course.

In February, he branded Patrick Reed a cheat over the contentious drop taken by the former Masters champion during the Dubai Desert Classic (not the first time he had taken the LIV Golf man to task over his understanding of the rules, it must be noted).

A few months later, in June, he called out the DP World Tour for fighting a “fake fight” against slow play before, more recently, dismissing talk of a ceasefire between the men’s games competing tours as a “huge sh*tshow”.

Following his missed cut in Qatar, Mike Lorenzo-Vera is projected to move to 113th on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai.

As it currently stands, only the top-116 players will retain their DP World Tour membership for next season.
