It’s been a nightmare start to Solheim Cup week for US star Danielle Kang.
Kang has had the worst start possible to her preparations for the showdown at Finca Cortesin after realising her clubs had gone missing in transit.
The six-time LPGA winner issued a desperate appeal to get her clubs back after they failed to turn up in Malaga via a connecting flight from Amsterdam on Sunday.
“Hi. I need everyone’s help again,” Kang wrote on X. “My captain and the entire US Team has been on this but someone PLEASE put my GOLF bag on the next flight out of AMSTERDAM to MALAGA… it’s missed every flight it could’ve been on today..BAG TAG 0074676649 flight.”

US captain Stacy Lewis replied: “Would love some help locating a set of golf clubs… kind of a big tournament going on this week!”
The low-cost Dutch airline Transavia soon replied to Kang’s plea, providing assistance with the 30-year-old facing a race against time to be reunited with her bag.
Kang replied with full details on her lost clubs and where they need to be transported – the opulent Andalucia resort that is hosting the Solheim battle.
“My clubs didn’t make it but my putter didddddd. And yes they travel separately – Scotty Cameron knows,” she had initially posted on Instagram on Sunday as the search began for her other 13 clubs.
Sky Sports News reporter Jamie Weir has since provided this update on Kang’s travel fiasco:
Just been told that a back-up set of clubs for Danielle Kang is arriving at Finca Cortesin at 9pm tonight. They fear her original clubs have been lost entirely, or are certainly irrecoverable by Friday. Currently chipping with spare wedges while rest of US team play the course.

It’s the second time Kang has had club troubles in as many months after her bag was lost in transit during a similar incident en route to the AIG Women’s Open at Walton Health.
They were found on that occasion before the major, and Kang will be desperately hoping her bag can be located before making her fourth appearance in the match against Europe.
Kang qualified automatically for Lewis’ team at Finca Cortesin and has a record of 5-7-0 in the contest.

She is known as the partisan player in the American side and relishes the atmosphere in team events, particularly on away soil.
Before the 2019 defeat, she famously declared that she wanted to “take souls” and claimed she wanted to be booed by the Gleneagles galleries.
The 18th Solheim Cup takes place at Finca Cortesin from September 22-24.
