LIV Golf has confirmed the signing of PGA Tour winner and European Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton.

Just three days before the Saudi-backed circuit gets underway in 2024, the Englishman has been revealed as one of the league’s latest additions.

Reports suggested the 32-year-old was set for a move after months of speculation linked the Englishman with a switch.

And in a deal that’s reported to be worth up to $50 million, Hatton will join Ryder Cup teammate Jon Rahm’s newly started team Legion XII.

“I’m really excited for this next chapter, to link up with Jon Rahm and Legion XIII, and to get started this week in Mexico,” he said.

Rahm and Hatton will join forces with University of Tennessee sophomore Caleb Surratt and Zimbabwean Kieran Vincent.

One of the top amateurs in the world, Surratt ranked 10th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking and was a member of the 2023 Walker Cup team.

Meanwhile, Vincent excelled at LIV Golf Promotions to secure one of the three qualifying spots up for grabs through the tournament.

“We’ve come a long way in a short period of time and are extremely proud of the team and brand we are building,” said Rahm.

“As we were developing the team’s brand it became clear that I wanted to fight alongside a group of guys who aligned perfectly with what the team stands for.

“Tyrrell is a fierce competitor, proven champion, and of course my Ryder Cup teammate.”

LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman added: “The introduction of Legion XIII is a testament to LIV Golf’s continued growth as our league builds for the long-term.

“Jon Rahm is one of the top competitors in the world and his team will make an immediate impact on the league both on and off the golf course.

“I’m thrilled to welcome his new teammates, Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton and young gun Caleb Surratt, along with LIV Golf Promotions standout Kieran Vincent, who will undoubtedly be great additions to the league.

“This is another exciting moment in the natural evolution of LIV Golf and the future for the sport.”

Hatton had committed to playing in the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach, a signature event on the PGA Tour this week.

Instead, he will make his debut at LIV Golf Mayakoba this week, with the action teeing off from February 3-5.
