A mouth-watering $450 million deal was likely to bring LIV Golf even further into the spotlight.

The signing of Jon Rahm was a significant statement of intent from the Saudi-backed circuit, and it has all led to this point.

Rahm, who will compete under a new team, is set to make his eagerly awaited debut in Mexico, at LIV Golf Mayakoba.

The hazardous El Camaleon Golf Course will take centre stage, as the former PGA Tour venue kicks off LIV’s most important season to date.

Now in its third year, the Greg Norman-fronted startup has attracted its front of house in Rahm, but he will be joined by new signings Adrian Meronk and Tyrrell Hatton, too.

It is the 29-year-old Spaniard that everyone is interested in, though, as he steps up his preparations ahead of a green jacket defence in April.

Rahm soared clear of the field at Augusta last year and has not competed since the DP World Tour Championship in November.

No official confirmation on the name or members of Rahm’s team have been released, but broadcasting details for his debut are clearer.

Mainly thanks to a new deal LIV Golf has signed with Spanish subscription giants Movistar Plus+, where fans can tune into all LIV events through the entire 2024 and 2025 seasons.

In its bid to reach new audiences, fans of LIV Golf in Spain will now be able to watch countrymen Rahm, Sergio Garcia, Eugenio Chacarra and David Puig.

The TV platform’s existing content includes two dedicated channels showing the Ryder Cup, the four men’s majors, the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour, the Solheim Cup and the five women’s majors.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Movistar Plus+, the premiere streaming platform in Spain,” said LIV Golf Chief Media Officer Will Staeger.

“Over the next few weeks, we will be rolling out more than a dozen new or expanded distribution partnerships, as well as innovative plans for Friday coverage, to continue building off the momentum from our first two seasons.”

Meanwhile, fans in the UK and US can watch live and on-demand coverage of LIV Golf free of charge via LIV Golf Plus and the league’s designated YouTube channel.

In America, the CW Network will also air the event exclusively on Saturday and Sunday, with Friday’s opening round carried on the CW app.
