Some of golf’s greatest-ever players have contested the Ryder Cup for Europe – but which player has recorded the most points.
First contested in 1927, the Ryder Cup has seen several of the game’s great players battle it out for priceless points.
While Europe has lost the biennial match more times than it has won it, the continental team boasts having the all-time leading Ryder Cup points scorer.
So, who has secured the most points for Europe in the Ryder Cup?

Europe’s leading Ryder Cup points scorer
Europe’s leading points-scorer in the Ryder Cup is Sergio Garcia. The Spaniard is widely acknowledged as the best Ryder Cup player of all time.
Garcia has won 28.5 points while wearing blue and gold and remains the youngest player ever to take part in the contest.
At just 19 years old, Garcia kickstarted the most successful Ryder Cup career during the infamous ‘Battle of Brookline’ in 1999.
Despite being a rookie, he picked up 3.5 points, which was the joint most in his team after only losing one match all week.
Garcia ultimately made ten appearances in the Ryder Cup on his way to breaking the existing points records. Between 1999 and 2021, he missed only one match, in 2010 at the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.
Garcia grabbed the record-breaking point at the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National in France when he defeated American Rickie Fowler in his Sunday singles match.
The 2017 Masters champion signed with the LIV Golf League in 2022, making it increasingly unlikely that he will compete in the Ryder Cup again.
But in a glittering Ryder Cup career, Garcia won 25 of 44 matches, halving 12 and losing just seven.
