The hotly anticipated Cabot Saint Lucia has finally opened, and with it comes the 18-hole championship course at Point Hardy Golf Club.

The 375-acre golf and residential estate overlooks the Caribbean Sea on the northern tip of Saint Lucia, offering ocean views from every corner.

Designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, the course is built along one and a half miles of coastline, with nine holes playing directly over the island’s rocky cliffs.

Lying at the heart of the property, Point Hardy is the renowned architect’s first Caribbean layout and boasts mesmerising views on every hole.

“It’s very possible that Cabot Saint Lucia is the most visually stunning piece of land we have ever worked with,” said Coore, co-principal of Coore & Crenshaw.

“It was a privilege to work with the Cabot team on this one-of-a-kind site, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished.

“This project was truly a labour of love, and the initial feedback on this enchanting property as one of the world’s most sought-after golf destinations is very special to Ben and me.”

Measuring 6,561 yards, the par-71 course unwinds along sandy beaches and meandering valleys to its end point, where four stunning holes steal the show.

The 15th hole requires a water carry from the tee, while the final hole is another par-four which curves around the coastline.

Sandwiched in between those are a pair of par-threes that play over a cove and above a rocky inlet. But golfers can also challenge themselves on the Short Course.

The pitch-and-putt is yet to be opened but will set up for maximum flexibility and multiple routes, as three, six and nine-hole routings can be created.

In 2036, a three-story clubhouse is set to open, with the third level to host an array of entertainment options including a games lounge, a bowling alley, golf simulators and a theatre.

Meanwhile, a range of real estate opportunities await at Cabot Saint Lucia, where a variety of leisure facilities cater to guests of all ages.

Ben Cowan-Dewar, CEO and co-founder of Cabot, said: “When I first saw the land that would become Cabot Saint Lucia, I knew it was the perfect canvas to create something truly awe-inspiring.

“Opening Cabot Saint Lucia and Point Hardy Golf Club has been a dream come true, and I am honoured to work alongside the dedicated, creative and talented team whose vision and hard work brought us here today.”
