Dom Pedro Golf hailed by pros at Portugal Masters

The Algarve’s premier golf brand, Dom Pedro Golf, has been praised by
the world’s best players and the European Tour following the first
Portugal Masters as owner and operator of the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf
Course.

The course lived up to its billing as the tournament went down the final stretch of exciting water filled holes, with Lucas Bjerregaard prevailing by four shots over second placed Marc Warren for his maiden European Tour win.

As well as providing an exciting spectacle for thousands of golf fans gathered on the Algarve and millions more watching on from around the world, the great and good of the game came out to commend the host venue for excellent organisation and delivering another Portugal Masters to remember.

Peter Adams, European Tour championship director for the Portugal Masters, said: “We are very happy following our first full year in partnership with Dom Pedro Golf.

“We are delighted with the improvements made to the Victoria Course, which have been widely endorsed by the players, and look forward to continuing a strong relationship in the future.”

Social media was also awash with admiration for Dom Pedro with several players, including Graeme Storm and Eddie Pepperell, full of praise for the layout.

“It’s been absolutely fantastic,” said Storm who, like Pepperell, finished in a tie for third. “When we come to Portugal, this is the sort of weather that we expect. It’s been a great event.”

Pepperell, meanwhile, commended the leading Algarve venue for its hospitality, describing Dom Pedro’s food and drink offering as ‘one of the best’ on tour.

“We are delighted that our first event as owners and operators of the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course, part of the Dom Pedro Golf Collection, has been so well received by tournament organisers and competitors alike," said Luis Correia da Silva, CEO Dom Pedro Golf.

“The event has been watched by many millions of viewers worldwide and we have demonstrated why Vilamoura and Dom Pedro’s five golf courses have earned a reputation as one of Europe’s best-loved destinations.”
