The sub-base is then covered with sharp sand, a type of grit sand that is used because of its good drainage qualities.

Finally a roller is used to ensure the sand is perfectly flat and ready for the holes to be cut into the ground and the artificial grass surface to be rolled out.

If the area is wider than 3.66-metres, don’t fret. The Thistle All Weather Grass team join the rolls of artificial grass together using a combination of joining tape and adhesive, meaning you can have the covered area as long and as wide as you want.

The fringe grass is joined to the putting surface using galvanised nails, before being trimmed to suit your needs. Finally, the holes are precisely cut before it is cleaned using blowers and a Dyson hoover.
