J.Lindeberg unveils Olympic outfits for USA golfers

J.Lindeberg has unveiled the outfits that will be worn by golfer representing the USA at this year’s Olympic Games in Paris.

The Swedish apparel giant – known for its eye-catching designs and bold patterns – was revealed as the official apparel partner of the US golf team last year.

Now, with just months to go until the 33rd edition of the quadrennial sporting event, it has revealed the uniforms the Americans will be wearing.

The ‘USA Golf Collection‘, released to coincide with this week’s PGA Show in Orlando, pays homage to the American flag with its red, white and blue colour palette, and has been designed with cutting-edge 3D technology to create “articulated lines that enhance movement”.

The complete range also incorporates fabrics such as ClimaCool and 37.5 to keep the players cool and comfortable.

Amongst the stand-out items from the collection are printed compression tops for women, half-zip sweaters, hoodies and even varsity jackets.

“We are thrilled to reveal our full USA Golf Collection,” said Hans-Christian Meyer, chief executive officer of J.Lindeberg.

“Dressing the USA teams for the Summer Games in Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 will be an honour that underscores our commitment to excellence in golf and sportswear design alike.”

The collection will available to buy from June.

American golfers complete a golden double at the most recent Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Delayed until 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the competition took place in 2021, with Xander Schauffele and Nelly Korda winning gold for the United States.

As things stand, Scottie Scheffler, Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Max Homa occupy the qualification spots for the men’s team, with Korda, Allisen Corpuz, Megan Lhang and Lilia Vu in the four women’s spots.

Qualifying continues until June 17 for men and June 24 for women.

The 2024 Olympic golf events will be played at Le Golf National, host venue for the 2018 Ryder Cup. The women’s competition will be staged from August 7-10 with the men’s tournament taking place a week earlier, from August 1-4.
