From the couch to the course, Nike has unveiled a new golf shoe that takes comfort to the extreme.

The new Nike Air Jordan 1 Golf Mule have gone viral on social media this week, for two main reasons.

Jordan’s latest offering doesn’t come at a discount, despite being heel-less slip-ons with no laces.

Retailing on Nike’s website, the shoes will set you back $110 – around £86 – when they launch in February as an expansion on the existing Air Jordan 1 Low Golf.

It’s yet to be seen whether the likes of Tony Finau will rock up for 18 holes in the easy-entry sneaker, but it appears your average golfer won’t.

On social media, one user argued the shoes “look like slippers”, while another wrote: “Hideous, big yikes from me.”

“No thanks. I wear Js and those are a no,” commented a fan of the existing shoe, with a different golfer questioning: “How are these going to work on the course?”

Recent designs of the brand’s highly popular Air Jordan 1 have extended and reduced the original mid- and high-cut into new golf-fit variations.

And in the latest twist, Jordan deems the laces unnecessary due to its Mule set-up.

The brand’s signature red, black and white combo remains intact, though, with the famous swoosh along the side and a red Jumpman logo printed on the tongue and sole.

The spike less shoe could also emulate the success of Travis Scott’s own AJ1 golf shoe, with people willing to wear the made-for-golf shoes off the green.

Nike’s new Jordan drop comes two weeks after Tiger Woods confirmed he was parting ways with the company after an iconic 27-year partnership.

Speculation has been rife as to where the fifteen-time major champ will head next, and it finally appears that his new clothing line has been revealed.

It has been noted that TaylorMade – Woods’ equipment manufacturer of choice – are launching a new apparel line called Sunday Red through its TaylorMade Lifestyle Ventures division.
