Lexi Thompson makes surprising equipment change for 2024 season

The LPGA superstar has had a busy 2024. She’s made big changes to her equipment, as well as announcing her intention to retire from professional golf at the end of the year. With that being said, here’s Lexi Thompson’s what’s in the bag.

What’s in Lexi Thompson’s bag?

Thompson has been a Cobra staff player since she turned pro in 2010, and has worn Puma apparel for the same amount of time.

This year, when it comes to clubs, we’ve not seen huge changes from Thompson. But, there has certainly been movement when it comes to the golf ball she’s using.

Thompson split with Bridgestone in December and the talk of the equipment circles was which brand she would go with next.

And now we know.

In a short clip posted on social media, she said: “I’m very excited to announce my partnership with Maxfli.

“It has given me that extra bit of confidence around the greens and a few extra yards off the tee.”

“I’ve been testing the Maxfli Tour Series for a few months now, and the Maxfli Tour ball exceeded my expectations,” Thompson explained. “The ball fits my game extremely well, increasing my ball speed without sacrificing control. I’m excited to be joining forces with a brand that has such a longstanding, proven reputation for high-quality and performance.”

Away from the course, Thompson will become a face of Maxfli’s various marketing campaigns.
