Puma GS-X Efekt golf shoe review

If you’re the type of golfer who wants to step out of the car and walk straight to the first tee, then you’ll love the new Puma GS-X Efekt golf shoe. If comfort and looks is your priority, the new Puma GS-X-Efekt ticks all the boxes.

First Look

At first glance the Puma GS-X-Efekt looks like a trainer. You wouldn’t necessarily think it’s a golf shoe. However, looks can be deceiving and the traction design on the sole gives it away, especially since it’s emblazoned with the word ‘GOLF’. This traction design, which we have also seen in the Puma GS-Fast shoe, is minimal on the sole and fun in design. The look of the shoe itself is something you’d want to wear off the golf course, as it’s very much in keeping with the fashion trends of today.

The Tech

This trainer-like style has more tech in place than you might think. Here’s what Puma has to say about their latest golf shoe release.

The new GS-X Efekt is designed with a TPU covered mesh upper, providing waterproof support, while keeping an everyday trainer aesthetic. Puma has followed on from the success of the GS-Fast, the signature golf woodmark traction is unmistakable when in view, yet discrete from a profile view. The signature sole provides the player with enhanced traction with a distinct look. The GS-X Efekt is a true to size fit providing confidence in comfort. In addition to the sizing fit, the silhouette boasts a wraparound TPU Clip which locks the heel into place whilst on and off the course. A synthetic upper, ProFoam midsole and a carbon rubber outsole provides durability, responsiveness, and performance on the golf course.

The bunkered Verdict

I think this shoe is going to be a hit, especially in summertime with the drier weather. But, off the course you could also wear it when you’re running around doing your daily errands.

It’s got good traction with a great visual on the sole and with comfort and style being the focus it’s going to appeal to a lot of golfers this spring and summer. It comes in three colourways in men’s, and two colourways in women’s so you have some great options to choose from.
