Puma Phantomcat Nitro golf shoes review

Puma have always been known for their loud colours and standing out from the crowd and the Phantomcat Nitro is definitely going to do that on your feet.

The First Look

Take a look at the newest and most advanced shoe Puma Golf has ever produced. It’s smart slick and the new traction control and unique spike design is very interesting. It has a number of multiple new technologies both inside and out and is designed to provide the ultimate comfort and performance in a wide variety of conditions.

The Tech

The new Phantomcat Nitro is designed with nitrogen infused foam in the heel to provide improved rebound and lightweight responsiveness every step of your  round. To further increase comfort, a new shaped toe box, which was developed through years of research, provides a better fit for a wider range of people. In addition to the distinguished comfort and performance of the nitro foam and new shaping, a unique and innovative Flexspike design provides a brand-new take on traction.

This is engineered to increase surface contact with the ground, the uniquely shaped, integrated cleats not only provide better traction but also improve weight distribution, making the shoes lighter and more comfortable overall. The unique shape of the new flexspike also features multiple traction elements, providing increased grip as the foot moves in different directions during the golf swing and while walking.

Other features of the Phantomcat Nitro include full grain leather uppers with a one-year waterproof guarantee, a TPU outsole base with spined secondary traction elements, and a moulded heel panel that locks the foot into place for improved control and stability.

“The Phantomcat Nitro is our most advanced shoe to date. Nitro foam and Flexspike technology gives the golfer a combination of traction and comfort like never before. The feedback we’ve received from our tour athletes has been fantastic and I can’t wait for golfers to try this shoe.” – Andrew Lawson, Senior PLM Footwear, Puma Golf.

The bunkered Verdict

These to me look amazing. I love the colours that are on offer and the traction control and Flexspike design is very different. However, they’re designed to help distribute your weight more efficiently through the swing and combined with the nitro foam, it will be extremely comfortable. I’m looking forward to getting these on my feet and out on the course to give you guys a more in depth review, so stay tuned.
