If you’re serious about improving your golf, the Rapsodo MLM2PRO could be perfect for you.

We see the best players in the world hit shots with every number imaginable on the screen beside them. Ball speed, club speed, spin rate, it’s all covered. If you want to know how your game compares, then the best option is a launch monitor and, in that space, there’s not many better value than the Rapsodo MLM2PRO.

Rapsodo MLM2PRO Review

This bit of kit is easy to set up, compact and easy to transport. To use this, you’ll need to connect it to a device such as a phone or tablet, but I found this to be really easy. Once you’ve done that, you can choose from one of three modes.

• Duca del Cosma’s new range of winter boots

Firstly, the practice mode is exactly how it sounds. With this, you’ll be able to tell the machine whether you’re indoors or outdoors – and the conditions you’re facing – to get the most accurate readings possible. You’ll get numbers such as total distance, carry, and how far off-line you were. All the measurements you need to learn more about your golf.

The next mode you can use is called combine, which is excellent. You can select a range of yardages and the launch monitor will tell you how far you should hit each shot. It’s a great way to dial-in your numbers. In previous Rapsodo models, this was only available outdoors but you can now hit into a net and get the same results with the MLM2PRO. A great addition.

Finally, the simulation option lets you choose one of up to 30,000 courses to play virtually, which is brilliant fun.

• FIRST LOOK: TaylorMade Spider putters

I love how easy this is to use. It takes little time and effort to set up the tripod behind the ball and connect to your phone or iPad. The dual camera doppler radar system gives you the data you need, and if you want to delve deeper, then you can. Rapsodo has teamed-up with Callaway to create a ball with special dots on it to pick up the backspin and spin axis.

The price point is great, too, compared to other launch monitors. Yes, it’s a lot of money – but you get plenty of bang for your buck.

Rapsodo MLM2PRO – Tech Info

Impact Vision

The impact vision camera records images of the ball’s rotation to measure spin rate and spin axis. Adding these metrics improves the ability to determine overall carry distance and path.

Shot Tracer

The Shot Vision camera is used to record a swing video with shot tracing on every shot. The 240 fps high speed shutter ‘Impact Vision’ camera captures a series of photographs that are visualised in the MLM2PRO Mobile App as a short video, allowing players to view every swing.

 Key Metrics

The MLM2PRO has six measured metrics within 13 core metrics including new data points like descent angle, spin rate and spin axis. The ability to measure both spin metrics is an invaluable addition.

RRP: £649
