Motocaddy M Series range review

Motocaddy trolleys have been a number one choice for many golfers across the globe and they have just launched seven brand-new compact-folding M-Series electric trolleys for the 2024 season.

The new trolleys feature a sleek automotive-inspired design with a host of high-performance features, including the brand’s revolutionary Click ‘N’ Connect cable-free lithium battery technology

First Look

As you can imagine, with seven models with multiple features and new Click ‘N’ Collect battery tech, there’s plenty to see on these trolleys. We have the M-TECH GPS, M5 GPS and M3 GPS range which are all equipped with GPS giving you all the information to get you closer to the hole. You then have the M1 which is compact, easy to use and takes the strain away from carrying like an electric trolley should.

But how do these trolleys compare to each other? Let’s dive into the tech and see.

The Tech

With seven models to pick from there’s plenty of tech to get stuck into.

Up first we have the M-TECH GPS which is the brand’s exclusive flagship model, combining fast and accurate touchscreen GPS with over 40,000 courses with luxury finishes and striking design. Hand-stitched genuine leather handle grips and polished chrome detailing produce the ultimate in golf club transportation. A fully-integrated, super-fast GPS system with accurate green visuals through a crystal-clear 3.5″ touchscreen display provides front, middle and back distances, plus hazard information ensuring every detail a golfer needs on the course is covered.

Golfers can stay connected with Bluetooth smartphone alerts and WiFi updates, plus exclusive access to Motocaddy’s cellular-powered Performance Plan. The no-obligation upgrade starts with a 12-month free trial and allows golfers to unlock a selection of stunning hi-tech game management features. These include access to full-hole mapping with the ability to move the target for ultimate shot planning; a detailed green view including greenside hazards; score and statistic tracking; performance analysis; real-time course updates to ensure access to the latest mapping; and notifications of software updates with ‘on-the-go’ downloads.

Additional features include Adjustable Distance Control (up to 60-yards), a USB charging port and a three-year extended warranty. The M-Series Anti-tip rear wheel is also included as standard.

The award-winning M5 GPS and M5 GPS DHC boasts the same high-performance GPS technology as the premium M-TECH GPS with a free six-month trial to the cellular Performance Plan.

The advanced GPS software includes a Dynamic Green view which shows the shape of the green being played, as well as drag and drop pin positions for ultimate approach planning. It also allows golfers to measure shots and track scores, with an on-screen clock and round timer aiding pace-of-play. The DHC version features Automatic Downhill Control that adjusts to maintain a constant speed while moving down a gradient for a smoother ride, plus all terrain DHC wheels and an electronic parking brake, which works on both up and downhill undulations.

The feature-packed M3 GPS and M3 GPS DHC provides front, middle, and back distances, plus a Dynamic Green view through the high resolution 2.8” LCD touchscreen display. Connection to the Motocaddy app for Bluetooth powered smartphone alerts and instant updates to the 40,000 pre-loaded courses with drag and drop pin positions is also available. Additional features include a high power 28.8V system; shot measurement; a clock and round timer; Adjustable Distance Control up to 60 yards; a USB charging port; and Automatic Downhill Control on the DHC model.

The M1 model is the world’s easiest-to-use compact electric trolley thanks to its simple folding system with space-saving inverting wheels, impressive LCD widescreen display, nine speed settings and Adjustable Distance Control (up to 45-yards). A speed indicator and battery meter feature along with a USB charging port, tool-free handle height adjustment, and a convenient auto-open stand for easy storage and transportation. Automatic Downhill control is added to the popular M1 DHC, along with an electronic parking brake and all-terrain tyres.

The bunkered Verdict

There are seven incredible options to choose from in this range and it’s all going to come down to what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend.

At the top of the range you have the premium construction and slickness in the M-TECH GPS which is worth every penny in my opinion. Then at the other end of the scale, if you don’t want GPS, you have the M1 which is compact in folding, easy and simple to use. The new Click ‘N’ Collect battery is slick and smart in each model and is easy to pop in and pop out when you need to charge.

No matter what trolley you choose you’re not going to be disappointed and we cant wait to take these for a test drive on the course this. Stay tuned for a more in depth verdict.
