As golfers, the threat of damage from being out in the sun is very real.
We spend up to five hours in the sunshine, and often, don’t apply any extra suncream while we’re on the course.
In fact, some of us might not even put sun cream on our skin before heading out on the course. This usually comes down to two factors. The first is laziness, but the second is a genuine concern – greasy hands making it nearly impossible to grip the club properly.
That’s why the team at Solex has developed a sports-focussed design in order to give golfers no excuses for not applying protection.
• Galvin Green’s new OPEN SKIES collection
The patented design allows golfers to squeeze the cream directly onto their skin, while the cosmetics-inspired saddle applicator makes it easy to evenly distribute the cream over your skin. All the while, you won’t need to touch the cream, so your hands won’t get greasy.
That applicator is designed to get into those parts of the skin that are usually missed by traditional application too. As well as that, the Solex can easily attach to your golf bag, and features a mirror that allows you to make sure the cream is properly applied.
The team behind Solex said: “We’ve been lifelong advocates for golfers being more skin-conscious. With backgrounds in manufacturing, Solex is something that we’ve long wanted to bring to the market.

• Under Armour’s Cold Weather Kit will have you ready for winter
“We were adamant that the product would be easy to use, and we’ve spent the last two years, refining the shape of the applicator to ensure it offers full coverage for athletes whilst out in the sunshine.
“We’ve already had a fantastic reception from some of the UK’s leading golf clubs and can’t wait to see the product in pro shops in 2024.”
The product is set to feature at the PGA Show in Orlando in 2024, so you can expect to see it in pro shops very soon.
