He’s the 2023 FedEx Cup champion and $18 million richer – but what’s in Viktor Hovland’s bag?

The Norwegian put on an unbelievable display of golf at the Tour Championship, including a closing-round of 63 at East Lake to win by five over Xander Schaufele – who himself had shot 62 as he attempted to snatch that bumper jackpot.

Over the four rounds Hovland was exceptional off the tee with his Ping G425 LST driver, a club which has been in the bag for well over a year. He led the stats in Fairways Hit, Driving Accuracy with 69.84%, and was first in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green averaging 10.814.

With 21 birdies, his iron play was sensational with his Ping i210s, leading Greens in Regulation with 80.56% and hitting 58 out of 72 greens. And when he did miss, he only failed to get up and down on two occasions – which is where his only two bogeys of the tournament came.

It was an exceptional performance from the 26-year-old, who picked up his second PGA Tour win in a row and his sixth overall to be crowned the 2023 FedEx Cup champion and take home the $18m top prize. The win also moves Hovland up to fourth in the world rankings.
