LIV golf Tulsa preview

Just a week after the Champion Golfer has been crowned, Minneapolis has its own championship, the 3M Open.

The tournament was first played in 2019, but it has been an important stop on tour, as the battle to reach the Tour Championship next month heats up.

Utah man Tony Finau claimed the title last year, and the 33-year-old will return alongside 2021 Masters champion Hideki Matsuyama, among others.

The lowest winning score in Minnesota has been 15-under-par, and on a wide and forgiving setup, it’s safe to assume that trend will continue.

If players can find a spark around the green and tap into their prolific scoring, then some valuable FedEx Cup points are waiting by the 18th green on Sunday.

Here’s everything you need to know…

3M Open details

The bunkered Bet

Cam Davis 40/1

The Australian is one of the best off the tee on the PGA Tour and that alone should stand him in good stead at TPC Twin Cities. Davis is also top ten on tour for par-5 scoring, and his two top 20 finishes in the last three years highlights his game as a strong course fit. With the FedEx Cup playoffs fast approaching, there is some added incentive for the 28-year-old, who needs to pick some up as quickly as possible.
