The Genesis Scottish Open might have a stronger field, but it’s not the only co-sanctioned event on this week.
The Barbasol Championship returns as Kentucky welcomes the joint tournament hosted by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour.
It is a fairly new tournament on the schedule, running since just 2015, and in that time, the home players have dominated.
Only three players have won the event or finished as the runner-up in seven years, with Ireland’s Seamus Power being the most recent player to do so.
There might not be spots in the 151st Open Championship up for grabs, but the winner will receive a two-year PGA Tour exemption and a place at next year’s PGA Championship.
