BMW Championship prize money payout in full 

Viktor Hovland produced arguably the round of the year to snatch a dramatic victory over world No.1 Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championship.

The inspired Hovland came home in 28 shots with seven birdies on his back-nine to set a nine-under course record of 61 at Olympia Fields in Chicago.

It had looked for so long like a shootout between Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick for the penultimate PGA Tour title of the season, but Hovland embarked on the most sensational run down the stretch to eventually win by two shots.

The Norwegian claimed his second PGA Tour win of the season in an enthralling final round, two months after his victory at the Memorial Tournament back in June.

He set a scarcely believable 17-under clubhouse target and Scheffler’s hopes faded with a bogey on the 17th which left him needing an eagle at the par-four 18th to force a playoff.

Hovland has now moved up to second behind Scheffler in the FedEx Cup standings ahead of next week’s Tour Championship finale at East Lake.
